Information
Children’s day-care Centre
Day-care for children aged three to six
Our Stauferland Day-care Centre is located close to Mainzer Strasse, outside Wiesbaden’s city centre. It opened in 2011 and shares a building with the Campus Stauferland primary school. The centre has places for 125 children from the age of three until they start school. The children are divided into three elementary groups and two preschool groups.
The premises
The modern purpose-built building covers a large area and houses the kindergarten and the preschool (last year of kindergarten). This includes the group rooms, a music room, the staff room and the office. The rooms are spacious, warm and light. The facility has a large number of parking spaces of its own in front of the building. The primary school is located in the same building. The greened outdoor area offers plenty of opportunities for the children to play games and get exercise.
Multilingualism
The day-care centre focuses on multilingualism (German/English/Spanish). Native speakers of English and Spanish work in every elementary group. In the preschool English is the working language and the children are prepared for the bilingual primary school.
Educational concept
Our overall educational concept incorporates the Hessian Education Plan (BEP). We combine proven educational approaches with new developments and findings. We promote personality development and social and learning skills. The main focus is on social integration, promoting cognitive abilities, and providing the children with age-appropriate support to help them through the day.
The team supports and encourages the children’s all-round development in close consultation with their parents. We develop opportunities for the children to gain experience on the basis of the Reggio and Montessori pedagogy, which focuses on the needs and interests of the child. Our educational planning centres on the child’s current situation. In the day-care centre we use play to build community spirit, foster group skills and promote social learning in the various groups. The team of nursery teachers fosters the children’s independence and their sense of responsibility in appropriate ways.
Opening hours
Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Holiday plan
The day-care centre remains closed on 25 working days in the year, all in the Hessian school holidays. You can find the exact dates in our holiday plan.
