Grammar school sixth form
The best preparation for studying at university
The general university entrance qualification, known as the “allgemeine Hochschulreife” or “Abitur” in German, is a student’s admission ticket to an in-depth university degree programme. The grammar school sixth form on the Erbenheim Campus offers the optimum conditions for obtaining a good Abitur after three years.
The necessary framework is provided by classes that are not too large, individual support, good teaching methods appropriate to the curriculum, and a web-based learning platform.
Tuition in the grammar school sixth form is organised by subjects and courses. Advanced courses can be chosen from English, German, history, politics and economics, mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry. The grammar school sixth form works closely with our technical college, which allows us to offer a wide variety of courses.
English, the first foreign language, is continued. French, Spanish or Latin may be taken as a second foreign language. The grammar school sixth form prepares pupils to take the Abitur examination, which is standardised across the State of Hesse.
In addition to regular lessons, we offer revision courses for pupils preparing to sit the Abitur. We also have a library, online terminals, a cafeteria, various practice rooms and a committed team of teachers – all of which contribute to the best possible exam preparation. Pupils are taught either in class groups or in learning groups. This encourages the pupils to take responsibility for and organise their learning independently.
