Financial scholarships
The association Europa-Schule Dr. Obermayr e. V. and all its affiliated schools award 15% of their places at reduced rates to children whose parents are unable to pay the standard school fees regularly because they have lower incomes. If a financial scholarship is granted, the annual school fee for each year is EUR 720; the instalments to be paid are thus EUR 60 per month. The reduced school fees apply only to schooling itself, and not to lunches.
Lunch at school costs EUR 60 per month. You can apply to the Office for Care and Social Affairs for a lunch subsidy. You will be informed of the decision on covering/reimbursing the costs by the office of social affairs of the district in which you are resident. There is no charge for learning materials in the State of Hesse. The one-off enrolment fee for children who are accepted for a scholarship is reduced from EUR 260 to EUR 60.
The intention is to make it easier for all children to attend our schools irrespective of parental income.
Requirements for awarding a scholarship:
- Application for a scholarship (form)
The following documents must be submitted with the application:
The parent’s/guardian’s income tax return for the previous calendar year indicating the amount of disposable income - A letter of motivation written by the child explaining the reasons why he/she wishes to attend the school
- A description, written by the parents, of the special income situation in case the income tax return does not provide sufficient information (e.g. special circumstances such as debt, unemployment, special financial obligations).
Parents/guardians are eligible if their net monthly disposable income is less than EUR 2,200. In the case of married couples, the assessment will be based on their joint income.
A scholarship is initially approved for two years, after which it may be extended for additional periods of two years – if the requirements continue to be satisfied.
The application must be marked “confidential” and submitted to the head of the respective school.
Your request will be treated confidentially. The provisions of the GDPR apply.
