Children’s day-care Centre

For children aged three until they start school

The Musischer Kindergarten was founded in 1969 under the aegis of the Güntzel Music Seminar, an academy headed by Elisabeth Güntzel. On 1 April 1991, the academy – with the Musischer Kindergarten – and the Wiesbaden Conservatory with its kindergarten merged to form the Wiesbaden Music and Art School. On 1 January 2004 the Europa-Schule Dr. Obermayr e. V. – a recognised non-profit organisation – took over the running of the Musischer Kindergarten, while preserving its name. Today the kindergarten consists of three groups: two mixed-age groups (three to five-year-olds) and one preschool group (five to six-year-olds). English native speakers work with each group.

The team at the Musischer Kindergarten encourages the children’s individual development in close consultation with their parents, and supports each child based on their individual interests and needs. With application of Montessori and Reggio pedagogy we are thus able to provide all-round support for the children. Our educational planning centres on the child’s current situation. In the day-care centre we use play to encourage social learning, foster community spirit and promote skills such as motor control and linguistic skills The educational team fosters the children’s independence and their sense of responsibility in appropriate ways.

The premises

All the groups are accommodated on the ground floor and have direct access to the park-like grounds. Here children have plenty of space to move around and get exercise, and they can play in the playground and on the generous outdoor area. Two additional differentiation rooms are available to the children and their teachers for projects. A large community room is used for movement education. Children’s musical activities also take place in the community room. Each group has a regular day every week for trying out the musical instruments and singing together.

Multilingualism

Promoting natural multilingualism (German/English) is part of our educational concept. English native speakers work continuously with the children in their groups in line with the immersion method.

Educational concept

Our overall educational concept incorporates the Hessian Education Plan (BEP). We combine proven educational approaches with new developments and findings. We promote personality development and social and learning skills.

Our motivated team and our facility managers give your child the feeling of security necessary for discovering new things every day. We offer your child a safe environment for expanding and developing his/her abilities. Our top priorities are the welfare of your child and support for early childhood development. Our team supports and encourages the children’s all-round development in close consultation with their parents.

Opening hours

Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Holiday plan

The kindergarten remains closed on 25 working days in the year, all in the Hessian school holidays. You can find the exact dates in our holiday plan.
