Grammar school sixth form – bilingual
The best preparation for university in Germany and abroad
The general university entrance qualification (Abitur) is a student’s ticket to an in-depth university degree course. The grammar school sixth form at the Obermayr International School Schwalbach/Main-Taunus (ISS) offers the optimum conditions for obtaining a good Abitur after three years. The necessary framework is provided by classes that are not too large, individual support, good teaching methods appropriate to the curriculum, and a web-based learning platform.
The ISS applies a consistent practical concept for foreign languages. It enables children who have already had bilingual lessons in a general subject to attend history and/or politics and economics in English and to include this in their Abitur. At the same time, if English is chosen as an advanced course for the Abitur examination, pupils can also obtain the certificate Hessisches Internationales Abitur (Hessian international university entrance qualification), if lessons in science subjects or mathematics were also taught in English.
The grammar school sixth form prepares children for the Abitur examination, which is standardised across the State of Hesse. Pupils are taught either in class groups or in learning groups. Parallel to the lessons in English, the school also prepares pupils for the TOEFL Test, which is required for admission to a US university.
The school’s premises are located at Katharina-Paulus-Strasse 2.
